These Benefits are designed to supplement your regular medical coverage.

Voluntary health benefits add increased protection for you and your family. These supplemental benefit programs pay cash benefits regardless of any other insurance coverage you have in place, including policies available through your partner.

Voluntary insurance is a type of coverage that’s completely optional—which is why it’s known as “voluntary.” These plans work hand-in-hand with your regular medical plan to help if you are sick or hurt with the funds needed to pay health-related costs your medical plan might not cover, as well as other out-of-pocket costs. Voluntary insurance can help provide you with a financial safety net should you become injured or hospitalized.

You have three separate voluntary plans from The Hartford available to you.  Each plan has both a ’low’ and ‘high’ option so you can select the coverage that best suits you and your family’s needs.

Critical Illness

Accident

Hospital Indemnity

Critical Illness

Critical illness insurance provides you and your family with financial protection if you, your spouse or child are diagnosed with a covered critical illness. The benefit is payable if you or a family member are diagnosed with one of the covered illnesses. You can use the payment for out-of-pocket medical costs, like deductibles, coinsurance or copays as well as day-to-day costs of living, such as your mortgage or utility bills. Review plan details.

Accident

Accident insurance provides you financial peace of mind when the unexpected happens. The plan pays you directly based on covered expenses resulting from a covered accident as well as accidental death and dismemberment. You can use the payments any way you choose. Review plan details.

Hospital Indemnity

Hospital indemnity insurance pays you if you or an insured dependent (spouse or child) are confined in a hospital for a covered illness or injury (including Covid-19). This coverage can help offset expenses like deductibles, coinsurance, or copays. This benefit also can be used for any non-medical expenses like housing costs, groceries, car expenses, etc. Review plan details.
